hemp linen?

i was considering trying hemp linen. it's half the price of linen linen! literature seems solid that it is at least as strong and archival as linen.

i wanted to ask if there are any legal concerns in the US. it appears to be wholly legal. jerrysartarama sells it. would i get stopped and searched an an airport if i had hemp linen with me?

Re: hemp linen?

I doubt if random anonymous people on the Internet (such as myself) could give you an authoritative answer about airport searches.

Hemp clothing has been on sale for many years where I live, long before "medical" marijuana or recreational usage. Soaps using hemp oil are also for sale (but not the doobie oil).

Re: hemp linen?

I think I remember Virgil Elliot saying that linen is stronger than hemp, which is stronger than cotton.
Then again, I certainly remember conservators at AMIEN saying that there was no difference in longevity between linen and cotton.

I can't imagine hemp cloth would be a problem legally.
