Daily #60. The Farmer and the Rancher

hey, this is halfway through my 120 painting project. (insert background sounds of small celebration)

I don't know where I got this photo, but it's been sitting in my folder for awhile and I just loved the portrayal of these two fellas... I can imagine their good natured conversation....
I like that old stock trailer too.. once red, it looks like, and repainted blue at some point.... In the original photo, the rancher on the right also had on a light blue shirt.. that was just waaaayyy too much blue, so I changed it to red, but
I am not real happy with the light on it yet... however my time was done, so on to the next thing!

A small celebration? Deb, the halfway mark is major! You deserve a party for making it this far, and while recovering besides.

I love this painting. I have a photo similar to this of my dad talking to someone, and he's standing just like the guy on the left. They're also talking right next to a cattle trailer. Even more funny is that my grandpa looks considerably like the fellow on the left. You didn't use my photo, here, did you? (I hope you don't mind my sharing the photo. If so, just let me know and I can remove it.)

Deb...I always heard it as: "This Farmer and a Salesman and the Farmer's Daughter". You almost had to change the title to protect the innocent.

I like it....very much. A quite moment of just conversation, very well done.

Congrats on getting half way! Been missing your dailies gal.. This one is so much different than what you usually paint.. I"m not sure why.. It just feels different. Perhaps subject matter? Oh.. though this is really stellar!
