Re: Are you an art medium jumper?

Right now in various stages, I have an acrylic painting, oil painting, pen & ink drawing and wood burning piece on the go.

Between that, I decorate cakes, make costumes, crochet, and draw in graphite, pastels, and coloured pencil.

So, yes, I definitely qualify as one who jumps, dances or otherwise meanders through media and I'm quite happy as long as I am creating.

Re: Are you an art medium jumper?

Definitely a jumper. If you get something out of it, and aren't just mindlessly mark making, I think it's definitely beneficial and can help you bring thought processes and techniques from one medium to another. You'll see graphite and charcoal artists who make broad gestures like painters (because they also paint). You'll see painters who seamlessly employ cross hatching and overlapping edges (because they also draw). Etc.

I've dabbled in:
-Acrylics
-Gouache
-Casein
-Aqyla
-Ink and copic markers
-Graphite
-Charcoal
-Oil pastels
-Digital painting/drawing

Re: Are you an art medium jumper?

My list of art (and craft) media is rather eclectic. I have done leather work, woodturning, beadwork and jewelry making, weaving, spinning, knitting, crochet, tatting, all sorts of needlework, drawing, oil painting, and just recently, watercolors. Some of these I still do regularly, and some I haven't done in 10 years or more. There's a cross-stitch project in my studio that I started 20 years ago and I don't know if I'll ever finish it...
