Not quite Dreadnoughts

But all part of evolution. There were quite a few of them, and lots of action. But not a very well publicised. Same with the Blocade runners in the South. Quite a few built by well known ship builders this side of the Atlantic. Fast ships, who’s sole purpose was to run the blocade of the Southern States (possible other painting?)

Thanks for the CW art. I grew up along the Mississippi. Spent my childhood across the river from New Orleans and part of my adult life in Baton Rouge. I remember vividly the times when the wrecks of CSS Louisiana and Arkansas were located! My hobby is building CW ironclad models.
