Re: Vincent Creative - Portfolio

Title: EBN (Emergency Broadcast Network) - Redux
Medium: Procreate, Adobe Illustrator, iPad Pro, Apple Pencil
Size: 10 inches x 10 inches, 300 dpi

This piece was conceptualized over 20 years ago when I was a student in art school (RMCAD). EBN started out as a marker drawing (1992), then a 16 foot x 16 foot mural (1993), then a 24 inch x 24 inch acrylic painting (1998) and finally a digital painting that utilized nearly every technique and trick I've picked up over the years (2016-17).

EBN was redrawn in Procreate with Apple Pencil. However, Adobe Illustrator was heavily used throughout the process due to the graphic design techniques in the composition . EBN is a hybrid between Procreate and Illustrator with each application lending it's own unique look to the end result. This latest version of EBN took nearly 200 hours of painstaking creation. There truly was no stone left unturned.

The piece is intended to be printed at a size of 4 feet x 4 feet but once it's finished being vectorized in Illustrator I'll be able to print it at any size without loss of quality. Additionally, the color may change just a bit once the color correction process starts. It won't be drastic but several areas need to be addressed.

Finally, this piece could be considered a self portrait and chronicles several aspects of my life, both past and present.

"K" is for Krysti (Build Video, https://youtu.be/TyJkhcf4Lz0)

Please take a moment and watch "K" is for Krysti, my first ever build video. "K" is for Krysti was created using Procreate and Apple Pencil on the 12.9 iPad Pro. The video was created using iMovie on the iPad Pro and Corel VideoStudio on the PC.

Working on "K" is for Krysti was like wrestling a bear. Everything that could go wrong went wrong throughout the video creation process. Fortunately, my Kung Fu was strong and I tamed the wild beast.

Thank you to Kontekst for making the track Buddha available to artists like myself. Please take a moment and browse his links listed below. Thanks Kontekst!

A special thanks goes out to my crew, Krysti Manalo and Angelo Manalo. Without you guys by my side this video wouldn't have been possible. Thanks for putting up with my crazy, artist personality.

Please visit Youtube to watch "K" is for Krysti. I hope you enjoy it!

Title: Zoom
Medium: Procreate, iPad Pro, Apple Pencil, Adobe Illustrator
Size: Infinite

Zoom was conceptualized in Procreate on the iPad Pro with Apple Pencil. After the tests were completed in Procreate the piece was transferred into Adobe Illustrator for the final render.

Really cool. Nice colour transitions, and with a pattern, it looks complicated.

Thanks for the props! Zoom took approximately 75 hours. I drew the letters and conceptualized the pattern in Procreate on the iPad Pro with Apple Pencil. After the work in Procreate was finished (about 15 hours) I imported Zoom into Adobe Illustrator for the final render.

Once I was in Illustrator I took my time and tried several different pattern variations as well as color schemes. At least 1/2 my Illustrator time (about 30 hours) was spent on experimentation.

After deciding on a final pattern and color scheme I spent about 30 hours rendering it.

Here's a screenshot of the wireframe build in Adobe Illustrator. This piece was very complicated to build with all the bits overlapping each other.
