portrait of Melissa - xpost Portraits

This is a colored pencil drawing of my daughter Melissa. She is 4 yrs old in picture but is almost 40 now. Good grief, time flies. I used prismacolor pencils on drawing paper. The drawing measures 8x11. Thanks for looking.

I know! Isn't it crazy!? I remember my kids as babies like it was yesterday. Nice work on this. Pretty gray/blue eyes. If you're looking for suggestions, my only suggestion would be to lighten up the shadow under the chin a bit, and/or maybe blend it a bit more. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you Elaine. I somewhat agree on shadow. I used tuscon red on shadow and feel that burnt umber would've been better. So using masking tape removed one color and blended in the other and it looks better.

Such a cute face. Nicely done. The shine on her hair looks really good. What a lot of patience you had doing all those dots on her dress. Did you just draw little circles of blue on the white paper and then fill in around them?
