Bonnie, thank you so much. You have great lines with the pencil. Decisive lines. Interesting brush. The car is special, eh? Well done.

Ai, thank you. We are wondering about the view. We should see lots of different animals. Deer and squirrels for sure. We saw a little rabbit run out of the bushes today and also on Wednesday, so that was nice.

We are our running around tomorrow, maybe sketch on Sunday. See ya.

Scatty, thank you. It is the first time ever to have a house that I have to find stuff to fit the house. Before I always had to find a house to fit my stuff!

I love the pointy shoes. I can't imagine anyone wearing them. Juicy fruit and veggies for sure. Love color, too.

Re: Scavenger Hunt #240 Oct 2 - Oct 10 , 2011

Hi everyone! I'm very sorry, but - again - I don't have time to comment. I wanted to post what I have though, along with some from the last hunt that never got posted (time flies!)

Here's what I did for the last hunt:

For this hunt, I tried sketching in oil, as I want to learn to paint in oils and I need the practice. These are on one sheet of canvas paper 11x14. I'll post the whole thing, then each individually so they can be seen. Clockwise from upper left: fruit (tomato from my garden - they really are fruits, you know), pen, art tool (palette knife), brush, vegetable (eggplant from my garden)

I'm actually kinda excited about these, as I am only just beginning to get the feel of using a brush and oils.

Annie: Wow... super job on the colorpencils, the bowl, shoes. The oil pieces are fabulous too. I think you did so well in oil as you think you are new to it. Your eggplant, and other sketch show that you are a master at it.

Kat: Thanks. job on all, I love the cup, the Eiffl tower is also awesome. The art shoes really sing, as well as the fruit & veggie.

Re: Scavenger Hunt #240 Oct 2 - Oct 10 , 2011

Another quick post, Lily is on my lap and she is so active and disteruptive at the same time.

#10 motorbike -- in place of a car

#11 outdoor -- KhaoTao temple by KhaoTao bay, Hua Hin, Thailand. We were on the vista point on the hillside looking down at the gazebo of the temple and part of the bay

#12 memorable -- the beach where we stayed nearby, SaiNoi beach

#13 good for you -- a short beach vacation trip, watching your kids playing with sand (Tone AKA Schwarzenegger was having a beer while on watch)

#14 animal -- Can you believe, there was a local cat hanging out on the beach playing with the waves?

Re: Scavenger Hunt #240 Oct 2 - Oct 10 , 2011

Ai: Thank you very much for your kind words! I think you overdid the compliment a bit, but I'm beaming anyway. Your motorbike is nicely done - a nice loose sketching style, yet perfect proportions. Good job. Is it yours? What fun! The temple at KhaoTao bay looks lovely - what a beautiful spot. And again, such a light and loose approach. The beach scene also looks idyllic. Lucky you, to visit such a pretty spot. The sketch of the baby and beer-drinking Tone made me smile. You have an excellent eye. I love the kitties too.

EP: Ah, a sleeping puppy is the perfect choice for "good for you!" And so cute, too. Nicely sketched. The palette knife and brush sketch is interesting juxtaposed with the sketchbook opened to that sketch. Fun. I like the colors.

Re: Scavenger Hunt #240 Oct 2 - Oct 10 , 2011

Awesome sketches everyone!!! I am on my sister's computer in Maine, so I can't take the time to comment individually...but they rock!

Jo - Congrats on the new house you found!!! I can see you sitting on that porch with your feet up sketching away. Wishing you a smooth move!

I am hosting next, and won't have access to a computer until late in the day tomorrow, so I posted the next hunt a bit early. Feel free to start it when you are finished with this hunt.

Ai - Thanks for hosting! Wish I could have done more. I have been painting a bit up her but in plein air. The weather is beautiful and perfect to sit outside. See you all in the next hunt. Enjoy!
