Re: August 2010 Landscape Challenge

Yep we need to have the images re-posted. It seems that many images posted during the week of transition are gone.

Glad everything seems to be working now...in fact I'm going to go find a feed back thread and say so...

Re: August 2010 Landscape Challenge

Hi everyone,

As others have mentioned, the reference photos (which are excellent - thanks very much Vlad!) have disappeared during the server migration. Fortunately, I printed one out as a reference before I left for a raft trip. So I went ahead and did that one last night.

Since some of the posted paintings aren't on my screen either now (the first one I have is Robert's on Aug 5th) I'm sorry if I missed commenting on some people's work.

Robert - nice CP work, as always.

Crowie - nice digitals, something I've never tried but find the results very interesting.

Astrid - nice take on the rocky point.

Lil - very nice tree.

I picked the rocky point reference image. This is watercolor on Arches cold press paper, about 6 x 9". There are probably about two hours in this piece.

Re: August 2010 Landscape Challenge

John, very nice romantic nocturne, I like your color palette
Lil, great work, really artsy

Hi Meggs and sun4fun.

I think they are still working on server. I uploaded my image as attachment, and this only worked recently, insert did not work. Now it looks like they fixed it at least for landscapes.

So you can try to upload now, it should be working

Re: August 2010 Landscape Challenge

Hi
I haven't posted here in awhile. I liked the fact buildings were included in the landscapes so I created this. I created this in an abstract form following only the shapes and light patterns much like Karen Dupre.
I think this one was Manhatten Streets, please correct me if I'm wrong. The images are no longer seen on the main page.

Re: August 2010 Landscape Challenge

Thank you Paula for re-uploading.

Peg, very nice rendering, I like it very much. And yes, it's 42nd street, Manhattan, view from Tudor place.

Last year I did one with oil pastels, the same place, same point of view, thought I have to post it here. The size is 8x10.

Just found photo:

Re: August 2010 Landscape Challenge

thanks Phlugel!! You and John have done a great job with your scenes. I've never tried water colors, too intimidating! Artsymom - great job, esp. on the shadows! Vlad and Peg nice work on the city scenes!

Hi Vlad,

This is my first time checking in to this forum and I would like to try one of your images but I cannot see them. I do see "Attached Images" but nothing happens when I click on that. Can you help?

Thank you very much.
