Re: Determination - Wolf Wip

Thanks Patrick! It is something rather different from me.

Thanks Diana! I normally take forever to finish a piece lol but I am determined to finish this soon.

Thanks SID3WAYZ! Drenched fur is the goal.

Thanks Phil! I usually do pieces at that speed too until I realised that I did more work on a piece in 5 days than in 2 months lol Record time for me would be at least the 30th of April to be exact

Glad you like it Sue!

Hoping to have an update soon! I wish I had a decent firbreglass brush to do the water, looks like I am going to have to do it all with a scalpel blade. The fibreglass brush I have the now shines the board instead of removing ink lol

I really like the wet fur texture you have so far. That's really difficult to achieve without it seeming too tiled and 'perfect' (if that makes any sense) but yours looks great!

I look forward to seeing you progress on this!

Re: Determination - Wolf Wip

Thanks Leptailurus ! I am just doing really random strands of fur to try and avoid the tiled look

Thanks Judy for your great comment!

Thanks Lorna!!

Thanks Zibbler! This forum inspired me to try scratchboard and I have never looked back since.

Thanks Harry for your kind comment!

Yip the water is going to be the big challenge Les.

Thanks Wendy I appreciate your encouraging words.

Another update, it is taking too long to do the water with a scalpel most of it is stippling which is so repetitive that I fear I may get bored of this piece However, I do like the idea that when I get bored of the water I can start doing some more fur to give me a feel of different textures

This is where it is the now

I am so happy that there is black ink, I love it

All C and Cs are welcome and thanks for looking!

What do you mean here? I only ask as many of us have commented about how Indian and Amersand black ink goes a little sepia when it's diluted and I'd love to find something that stays black.

Nice update

Re: Determination - Wolf Wip

Patrick... I meant to say that it was great for fixing mistakes when it was concentrated. I can't really notice the difference then. I do too dislike the quite annoying sepia tint when diluted. Thanks for your comment!

Thanks Harry! I hope I have not bitten off more than I can chew.

Re: Determination - Wolf Wip

I have given this hint before, but I don't remember where. If you add a little of the Ampersand blue to the Ampersand black that sepia goes away. Just add a very little, for every 15 drops of black or so, you don't even want to add a whole drop of blue. Play with it and test it on white board or paper. Dink with it until it is neither sepia or bluish.

I make a huge batch of this, undiluted, and keep it in a capped container and then dilute it on a tray for washes. I must say, though, that sometimes I like the sepia and make it work for me.

Re: Determination - Wolf Wip

Thanks for that tip Diana!!!

I have noticed that once a piece is sprayed the sepia tint almost vanishes thought

Another update, I am beginning to wonder why I started this, I hate the water and I bow down to those that make it look believable in scratch.

Anyway an update, I know the paw that is out of the water looks a bit off thats because I have not fully completed it yet lol

All C and Cs are welcome! Thanks for looking and I really do want your honest opinions please, is it looking like water I don't bruise easy
