Re: Tiger Face - WIP

Thanks for your encouraging comment Susan!! I hope I don't ruin it. lol

Thanks Robert for your great comment!!

Thanks Mark I really appreciate your nice comment!

Thanks Tracey!! I don't think you can get ampersand boards in the Uk. I had to order mine from Dick blick online. It was quite an expensive delivery charge which can't be determined until you have received the goods, but it is definetly worth it if you plan to sell your work. The delivery charge is based on the weight so mines was probably expensive because I ordered a 18x24 board. Mad I know lol. Also if you do decide to get it online trust me you will never want to go back to your old material. It really is that good. Hope that helps.

Thank you very much Patrick that means a lot because that is what I am aiming to achieve. I want to get realistic fur a bit like Cathy's lol I know that is quite an unrealistic goal though lol I hope to be half as good as her one day.

An update soon I have nearly finished the left side of the face.

Bye for now!

Ahmed, I only lurk on this forum because I've never tried scratchboard, but I just have to say this is fantastic!!! The eyes are incredible - I can't imagine how you have made them look so real. The entire image is just amazing! I hope you do enter this into a competition - you're sure to win it handily!

Re: Tiger Face - WIP

Thanks for your encouraging comment Sharie!!! I have yet to finish my snow leopard so it will be a choice between that and tiger for my entry. I will be asking everyone here to help me choose.

Thanks for your great comment Robert. You have a lot of ideas for a title!!

Ahmed,, these eyes are just hypnotising. And the scratch work as I've said before of your work is so perfect, even the close-ups don't show a mistake. Do you have to choose.? Can't you enter both in the competition.? It doesn't matter I think you will win with either.

Re: Tiger Face - WIP

Patrick thanks for your great comment!! I was worried about posting a close up.

Thanks Harold!

Thanks Chopperchick! I have seen your recent scratchboards and I think they are brilliant! Can't wait to see more.

Thanks again Bonnie! You are always giving me great praise! I suppose I could enter both, I think I might now, but I highly doubt I will win because it is the wildlife artist of the year competion which is open to professionals and amateurs. As an amateur I would hope to get shorlisted that would make my year!!...but that too is very difficult.

Thanks eily for your great comment! Merry Christmas to you too( I know am a bit late on that) Have a great year!!

Another update finally it is getting really close to finishing it. It will be my first completed ampersand scratchboard and then I will move on back to my snow leopard. My other piece with the snow leopard will be a surprise. Oh I would also like to ask can someone give me a link on here for what type of spray/varnish/fixative that should be used with ampersand boards please!. I really do not have a clue.

Thanks for looking! All c&Cs are welcome!!

Yes! My first official Guide-like helpfulness

First of all this still looks AWESOME! Those eyes really bring the piece to life.

Here is a link about Fixative

http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/show...light=fixative

And if you scroll through when I had responded to this post I had also provided 2 more links on fixative as well. I hope this helps you!
