Re: November Landscape Challenge!

Peg lovely colours, you handled the trees very well...

Alex I actually like the movement of the clouds in the sky, perhaps painting the sky first next time to eliminate the outline..

Carolyn nicely done here, I especially like the foliage on the far right tree..

Re: November Landscape Challenge!

Tatiana, thank you very much for such inspirational photos.

I've painted 3 variations of the same photo.
They are all in soft pastels using the same palette.
The first one is 14x11" and the other two are 13x9".

C&C welcome. I'd like to hear which one you like the most. Thanks!

Re: November Landscape Challenge!

Alex, this one turned out even better that your first one! Very nice miniature painting!

Mario, I'm impressed! Not just one, but 3 of a kind!
I can not tell you why, but I like last one the best. Generally this style of pastel is not exactly my cap of tea, but you sure made it work for you. Grass is looking just fantastic!
However road I like the best on your first painting.

Re: November Landscape Challenge!

Alex...nicely done here, I like how you framed the painting with the fences forcing the eye throughout the painting...

Mario.. I like all three, but the first one is my fav, it has a sense of motion...

Re: November Landscape Challenge!

Mario, thanks... I like your paintings too. Particularly the first one is the best in my opinion. I prefer the movement there in trees.

Tatiana, thank you.

Pete, thanks... your painting really looks fairy and romantic that I like very much.

Dan

Re: November Landscape Challenge!

The reference photos are wonderful Tatiana! I decided to work on the first one and gosh I'm really behind! Everyone is doing such beautiful work.

Alain ~ You captured the reflections very nicely.

Meredith ~ Your colors are beautiful. I really like your technique you used for the foilage.

Peg ~ I'm amazed at the detail that you captured on a small scale and the way you used the transparent method of acrylics.

Alex ~ I was surprised that you have only been doing art for 2 months. You're doing great! I really like your road one.

Carolyn ~ Very impressive. Did you use pastels? Like your technique.

Mario ~ Nice variations...I'm partial to the technique you used in the 2nd one.

Pete ~ I'm amazed at the color variations. Did you use fixative between layers? I would have ended up with a "muddy" mess! You did a wonderful job with the fences as well.

Again great work everyone!!!

Re: November Landscape Challenge!

Pete, what a wonderful painting!
You done very good job on values. I also like your fences and tree on the left is my vary favorite!.. Nice!

Dee, glad you like this month references ( I do too!). Don't feel bad being behind, I'm personally not any better!.. And I have so many unfinished paintings around, it is not even funny. I need to go and do something about it. Right now would be a good time! :-)
