Re: June Landscape Challenge.....

well thank you Kenny. had to be #1 at something LOL.

Hi Sandra, thank you ever so much for the fine comments. I didn't have much to do yesterday and didn't know what to paint so i gave this one a try. I like stone bridges and houses, so the next one i think will be the house one.

well hi Maxine, i guess that someone was me. and thank you so much for that very nice comment.

Re: June Landscape Challenge.....

Pete, it is one more nice painting of yours! I like it! :-)

The only thing I personally would probably do different - more visible difference in value and small details on trees in front of the bridge and behind of it. (Right now both parts are done on pretty much very similar way.) It should make it deeper and give better 3D effect to whole painting.

Pete - you've done a wonderful job with this - you have such a nice touch with pastels, and it really shows here. This is beautiful!

Re: June Landscape Challenge.....

This is more or less the original colors of my Derwent Drawing Pencils on Academie Heavyweight Sketchbook.

Here is a photoshopped version.

Can't help not putting some creature in my landscapes.

Btw, I'm hosting the June Challenge for the Southwest/Western Art challenge here and I put in 6 photos this time. Do come visit and see if you could participate.

Re: June Landscape Challenge.....

I bought a blister pack of 6 Derwent Tinted Charcoal today and I am so pleased with it. All along, I've been extolling the virtues of General's Pastel Chalk Pencils and had been wanting to buy a bigger set of pastel chalk pencils but this one feels just like pastel chalk pencils, with softer colors and equally erasable. The white is from Derwent Drawing Pencils set. I wished I had bought this rather than the Derwent Graphitint set of 24.

Re: June Landscape Challenge.....

Sandra, these are terrific. Really like the pterodactyl sweeping through the time worn gorge...but the two little skinny dippers are so cute! Very nice work!

Re: June Landscape Challenge.....

These are great what you've done so far. I do remember the first one from February. Can we cheat and repost our efforts?

Sandra, will check out your link here.

Re: June Landscape Challenge.....

Hey Pete, downright solid on this one I think. The value and shape on that under-bridge shadow is just right. I like your sky color too because it doesn't detract from all the foliage. Dan
