Re: January Landscape Challenge

It's been snowing off an on all morning, so I couldn't resist the snowy scene. I was more interested in the road than the tree, so here's the result. Oil on canvas board, 8x10.

Re: January Landscape Challenge

Very nice Maggie, love the color you got! I'm afraid your cows are going to get out though, you forgot the barbed wire on the fence!

Beautiful work, I may follow your lead an forget the wire and the tree. I agree the road is very interesting to me.

Thanks!

I guess I didn't think about the poor cows; I thought the barbed wire was unnecessary. But it might add a nice touch.

This is my 8th painting so far since I began working in oils again after nearly 20 years in pastel. It's amazing to me how some things have come back, and it's been fun discovering other things. I'm working small and have been trying to do one every day or two. It's too much fun!

Maggie, I'm just joking with you. I love it and it's better than I will probably do.

Kenny, I knew you were joking. I was too! Looking forward to seeing your painting.

Pete, I'm happy to be here with the oil painters, and having a good time. I will certainly be doing more!

Maggie, love it. Your shadow goes up and down the ridges beautifully

Re: January Landscape Challenge

Here's my attempt. First try at snow, roads and fences! So, it was a challenge, for sure. I left out the wire as well..just scared to try it!

Pete- Great pictures to pick from!

Peggy, I love your road!

Re: January Landscape Challenge

Hi! I am not much of a landscape painter. Trees and grass confuse me, but I loved the snow scene reference photo and thought I would give it a try anyway. All suggestions welcome. Beautiful paints so far on this thread! Elizabeth
