Re: Scavenger Hunt #101 Sept 16- Sept 22

Jeanne - Hi! Good list.

EP - Wow! Heck of a start for a procrastinator. That hot pink isn't so bad when surrounded by ink and graphite. Got agree with previous comments...that serrated edge is excellent! Congrats on the book!
Author. Artist. Impressive!

Jo - Nice sketches. I particularly like the the table. You captured so much detail...the flowers...the wood grain ...the little dog statue...the phone. Nice work!!

Ai - We need to come up with some kind of speed award for you!! Half done and I'm still thinking about it!! The colors are brilliant! I particularly like the battery and the lobster magnet as well as the line work on the bra. I will not say anything about that verrrrry large bottle of Viagra!

Joan T - Have a great and safe trip.

#1 Black and White - Ying/Yang bead
#2 Knot - knot in lanyard below bead
#3 well used - my trusty ball of BluTack
#4 Big Toe

All are done on a half page of a 8.5 x 5.5 in sketchbook using .7mm HB. Total time was about 45 min. I forgot to time them.
Joe

Um, hmm, does that make sense? My head cold is making my brain foggy.

Yes, J, the Thai are more conservative like when I grew up I was not allowed to wear shorts (above knee) to go out. And people were wearing only one big piece of swimsuit. Things now change though, especially the young teens. Their fashion seems to be copy from the hip-hop and MTV dancers.

Joe: Thanks for your kind words and thanks for the link to our JoC. Fabulous works. I like your pencil sketches. The pencil shading is excellent. The toe is great and also the bead. I wonder what #3 well used is for... I don't understand the concept so well.

JoanT: Have a nice trip at the wedding.

Jo - cool lamp and trinket shelf.

Ai - you are a busy sketcher! Love the bright, bold colours. Cute toe and air conditioner. Your elbow looks like mine if mine were skinnier. Fun magnet! Cute bikini top.

Joan - thank you. Launch party was fun! Met so many talented people... and had some s'mores. Have fun at the wedding.

Joe - thank you. I can see 3D ness to your toes and your beads. Hey - I think I know the artist in your link She hasn't even mentioned it

Cheers,

Re: Scavenger Hunt #101 Sept 16- Sept 22

Hi Joe and all. Thank you, Joe, for noticing my demo. I just got the newsletter from Creative Spotlight, too. I didn't want to spoil the surprise. Guess I will blog about it now. Thanks for the kind words. Now you see how I look in real life.

Ai, looking back at SH100 and how you like Holbein watercolors. Their pastels are fantastic, too. Reminds me to get some more. Yes, it was interesting how my random sketches sort of fit in the Hunt. I was hoping!! Your Viagra can is a hoot! Great selection of sketches. Love the color and lines. You did so well with the left hand. Wow.

Joan, thanks. What was it that George Peppard said on the old "A-Team" TV show, "I just love it when a plan comes together." The sketches were no accident! LOL

EP, I wondered about the jump/key drive, too. Thanks.

Joe, your beads, toe and eraser are just so nice. Your shading is outstanding.

See y'all soon,
JoC

Re: Scavenger Hunt #101 Sept 16- Sept 22

Sorry but i won't be able to comment or chat 4 a while as i have recurring rsi type problem. even when i can do things that seem harder than computer use, even a little bit of typing causes a big problem so i can only use my left hand. it will be frustrating to have to keep quiet.

Re: Scavenger Hunt #101 Sept 16- Sept 22

Wow, awesome sketches everyone. Wish I had time this week, but my son's b'day is today and I have to run to pick up my new glasses soon. Not much time for anything these days but peeking in! WAY TO GO ALL OF YOU! So colorful and lovely... I am totally impressed!

And Jo... wow... you're in the spotlight.

EP.. a book! COOL!!!! Will have to check it out!

Sandra, more bright colors... you all Rock!

And Ai's back in full swing... VIAGRA? They have that in Thailand?? Geesh, what next?? That is a super large bottle... I didn't think anyone would need THAT much. Well, maybe I'm wrong! LOL

Re: Scavenger Hunt #101 Sept 16- Sept 22

I think the big bottle of Viagra was needed with Ai's lacy underware! I resisted making that comment when I first posted my, but I just had to do it...sorry!

Joe - Great job on the bead and the knot at the bottom of the lanyard. Nice shading on the sketch of your big toe!! Good shading on the ball of Blu-Tack too. Thanks for the link to Jo's demo.

Jo - I enjoyed the demo by our own "featured artist." I don't think I'm going to get to visit Riverwalk in San Antonio. We were originally driving down for the wedding and spending a few days there. Plans changed and now we're getting in a few hours before the wedding and leaving the next afternoon. I really wanted to go back there!!

Sandy - Sorry about your problems with your hand/wrist! Great still life. You snuck quite a few items in there. Great color! I love the black cat too and the bunny wearing the underware.

1 - magnet - ink & watercolor

2 - serated edge - ink

3 - raisins & challenge 1 spilling out of their box - ink, watercolor, and inktense pencils

4 - elastic - ink

5 - puffy (bubble wrap) - ink & watercolor

Joan another good serrated knife edge. I like that magnet.

Joe what a beautiful toe. Bet you never thought you'd hear that about your toe.

Sandy nice colors. The floam does look puffy. Cute magnet. Nice that you found a use for the elastic.

Gosh, I wish I could individually comment here like everyone else does, but know I saw every single thing... and Joan, I think I like your box of raisins the best... though all the drawings/sketches are AWESOME!!!! I love the color in these.. they rock!

Joan and Jeanne... oooh, you guys have a one track mind.

Congratulations, EP on your book!
Great work everybody!
We went back home briefly. Our stuff was not damaged in the hurricane. We are fortunate. My apartment does not have power or water, so we will continue to stay with my sister for a while.

Re: Scavenger Hunt #101 Sept 16- Sept 22

Sandy: Lovely vibrant still-life spill sketch. I love the bells. The cat is cute as also the undy and the little shoe. I hope your wrist recover soon. but glad that you can still paint and show the works to us.

Rose & Joan: Ha Ha Ha... it is funny when you mention the Viagra thing. I think I spend most of my wake up free time on relentless art cards/sketches.

Joan: I normally hate any kind of raisin. I might have to go buy it to sketch for this hunt but I have to admit that your spill-out of the box raisins are so cool and as well as your knife, elastic tape, and the bubble. Cool magnet. Please enjoy part of Texas for me.

Kivrin: I am glad your place is not badly effected by the storm.
