Re: Scavenger Hunt #78 Mar 13 - Mar 21

Here is the bad boy that wouldn't post last night (kept showing up as my thumbs!)
# 1 something wrinkled - quick sketch markers - Chinese Char Pei posing at the dog show - the handler poses the dog - when the dog moves the handler resets the dog in as close to the original pose as possible - this can go on for 20 minutes or so depending on how many dogs are being examined. Make it easier to sketch an animal.
These are not big dogs so either my sketch is wrong (heavens forbid) or the handler is short. I think I have the dog about 6 inches too tall - it's nose in this pose probably comes up to the bottom of the front pocket of the handler. I guess was paying more atention to the dog than to the handler. My husband was reading over my shoulder and reminded me that the handler could have been a kid - bless his heart for thinking I could have been correct!

Cairomum - thanks - I guess I'm living proof of the value of sticking with sketching! I think that I've grown, thanks in large part to the encouragement of the folks in this scavenger hunt forum.

Cairo - Thank you. Lovely job on the wrinkles (character lines I call them)...nicely shaded. Nice texture on the orange peel. I like your wc combo painting. I couldn't find any teeth not in a mouth. lol Good job on the washing machine interior. Funny story to go with it.

Jeanne - Thanks. I couldn't find any seeds at home that were big enough to draw...brainstorm...the lemon!

Lynda - Thanks. That fish keyholder was one of my first purchases when we moved to our new place a few years ago. Now I can always find my keys. Great striped chair anad a good collection of buttons. Nice job on all the thumb poses...nice job on all the fingers. Love the wrinkled dog sketch.

Nitsa - Thank you.

Re: Scavenger Hunt #78 Mar 13 - Mar 21

Joan good job on the buttons. You even included the stapler. And the rug on the floor. I chose that one because with dogs inside, there is always something on the floor. Hubbies socks after they take them off of him, loads of their toys, bits of paper, plastic coke bottles they chew on.

Anita good job on the tie. Your control has buttons so could be counted toward that one. Your bag is great. So much stuff and you put it all in the sketch.

Lynda I didn't know you went to dog shows. My groomer takes her lab to the trials dog shows. I don't know how she keeps up with a lab. Mine runs so fast. I will try to post more so you won't miss my sketches. lol

Hello,

Thanks for the lovely comments on my items in hunt 77. Good list, Jeanne, here in hunt 78. Cairo - great to see you back. Add me to the list of folks who didn't know that Egypt has only paper currency.

I'll return with comments but wanted to pop in here now with my sketch.

#1 - seeds - inktense on sketchbook paper (with the ink on the reverse side speckling and adding unexpected effects) - around 40 min

Cheers,

Re: Scavenger Hunt #78 Mar 13 - Mar 21

Jo - cute thumbs. I like the one with the fingers curled around.
DancingPopcorn - cardamom looks good.
Joan - gorgeous paper towl set up. Your dustpan is broken? There's no dust in it. Pretty salt shaker (empty?)
Please pass the couscous. You have gorgeous paintings from your workshop. You could post your lighthouse paintings in the invitation to paint lighthouses thread in the WC forum - http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=480218 Nice hands. Good dental hygiene. Must be due to that dentist visit the other week. Great lemon seeds and love that fish key rack. More sketches! Staples! Washing machine! Books! You've been so productive!
Jeanne - I see Nemo, he's not lost. Good thing you stick that purple pencil in your mouth rather than your nose, lol. One of your buttons is smiling at me. Really cool twisty seed pod.
Cairo - you're smiling at us! Awesome!! Great texture of the orange skin. Great trio in the blue circles, though you might want three toothbrushes to complete the trio triad. That washing machine looks good and shiny.
Lynda - how did you/your dogs do at the dog show? Great striped chair. One of your coins looks like it's snoozing. Awesome page of hands. What a cute Sharpei.
Anita - nice tie. Great art bag with goodies inside.
Graham - did you just post a blank piece of paper? Oh my!

From reviewing all the hand sketches submitted thus far I see I forgot to draw my thumb inside my hand. Will do that next.

Here it is:

Cheers,

EP I just had a good laugh. You posted your second picture "button" page sideways. You should have seen me staring at it trying to figure out what it was. Then I leaned sideways and saw a belly button. Great idea. I really like the apple one. Isn't it fun to do your thumb over and over again? Make you really look at it.
