Simba

My daughter's family dog died a few weeks ago and she asked me to paint a picture of him. He chased a kangaroo into a dam and the kangaroo pushed him under and Simba drowned. He was just a big pup, 15mths old. The pink on his nose is zinc cream to protect him from skin cancer as he was susceptible to sunburn.

I'm also showing the ref I used.

That's so sad.

You painted a very sweet portrait.

Re: Simba

Very nice work! I thought the pink was kinda loud, so I'm glad you explained what it was.

It's always sad to lose a pet; it's nice that you were so able to make such a beautiful memorial portrait for your daughter.

You have brought back those memories for many of us. Reminds me of Elvis and old Shep. Hope he joined Old Shep.

Re: Simba

So sorry for the loss of Simba. You made a beautiful portrait of him. Your daughter will love this portrait. I guess you can not fool around with kangaroo's.

Re: Simba

Thanks everyone - yes it is sad but I guess the kangaroo's instinct was to protect his mob and the young dog was just having a bit of fun that ended badly.
