Re: Scavenger Hunt #402 April 20-28

Thanks Jo, Ai, Anotherelizabeth, J

Ai – is this bright and bossy 5yo the Lilly who turned her sister into a scary clown? If so, she sounds like a trip :>) Fun groups of glasses/eyes and light/dark.

Anotherelizabeth – fun use of office supplies! The colors definitely pop.

Joan – nice lines, and the hand is just perfect.

Artastic – Nice collection of sketches. They are really lively. The bottles might be my favorites. Congratulations on the upcoming retirement.

Jo – Ipad sketch – neat. I find glass bottles scary but you can make it work even on a screen. Neat! And it looks like was a really nice day for painting outside at Yesterfest.

Kivrin – Nice sketches and smart thinking on the cubes.

Couple more:
8 – Breakfast
9 – Soap
10 - Glasses

Dawn

J thanks for the list, and your forgiven for being a bit late , hope your eyes keep improving.

Congrats to everyone else, some really wonderful submissions this Hunt.

Caught a small cold and didn't feel like doing any drawing for a bit, but finally managed this very wonky bottle last night, directly with one of my technical pens in one of my sketchbooks. Oh my drawing is wonky not the bottle, the bottle is perfectly normal

Re: Scavenger Hunt #402 April 20-28

Thanks, all!

Dawn (Queenoftorts), I love your cup in the breakfast sketch. I am addicted to mugs and have limited my collection of same. Clever soap with color! Lovely glasses.

Ai, wouldn't that be fun to get together. One of these days. Your still life is so cute, makes me smile. I like the bright bottle with the colored shadow. Cool! Nice to do origami and clever find on the string.

Bonnie, I'm hoping for good weather for you. We loved our summers in Canada.

Kathy, your wonky bottle is welcome in my wonky sketches anytime! Fun label.

I sketched at the kitchen table today for the still life with my Micron 01 and colored pencils. A bit wonky in honor of Kathy! The apple and banana are too small. Hmmpf.
Number 10, Still life of a,b,c,d,e - Apple, banana, cup, doll (from Bolivia), egg

Re: Scavenger Hunt #402 April 20-28

Jo really nice photo. Good job on the still life. Are you collecting cups again?

Kathy nice line work on the bottle. I always thought I was hooked on sodas but I now think I'm hooked on the carbonation. I love sparkling apple juice.

Queen really good job on the glassware. Especially the bottom of the one with the handle. Irish spring. I remember using that at one time.

Ai I thought about origami when I listed folded paper. I don't have the patience to do all the folding. I tried several times. I even read about a lady who folds thousands of teeny tiny cranes and hangs them as a mobile. Lovely globe. I like how you show the items you draw.

Re: Scavenger Hunt #402 April 20-28

Jeanne, I don't really collect mugs anymore, but somehow they are accumulating again. Son brought one from his university, Gene (yes Gene!) bought me a Texas mug at the history museum, etc.... The collection is slowly building up again. It is going to get to the point where I have to put some away and rotate them. Ha.

Thanks for this hunt. I was a bit inspired somehow. I think about 10 is my usual number, though.

I sketched on the porch this a.m. with my Micron 01 in the big book. Small sketches, 1/3 page so about 25 minutes total.

Number 11, breakfast - I have sketched my rice cake with raisins, peanut butter and cream cheese so many times that I just sketched the containers today.
Number 12, light - sky
Number 13, dark - trees

Re: Scavenger Hunt #402 April 20-28

Bonnie, what are you using to color your drawings? Is that watercolor or marker?

Kivrin - Nice job on the glasses and books.
Dawn - Nice - that mug seems very ambitious!
Ai - I especially like the string.
Kathy - just claim it's the bottle Still, it looks good.
Jo - I like your light and dark. And the breakfast containers are amusing.

J: I like origami too, I can only do simple things. That turtle was folded by Iris's teacher and she gave it to Iris.... so I sketch from it.

Jo: Well done on the breakfast sets... nice clelver thought of light and dark. Your trees got nice volume.

Eliz: Thanks.
