September 11th

MY IMAGE(S):

GENERAL INFORMATION:
Title: September 11th
Year Created:
Medium: Acrylic
Surface: Canvas
Dimension: 16X20
Allow digital alterations?: No, please :)

MY COMMENTS:
This specific painting is meant to show the descruction of one of the most horrific days in US History. The terror attack on our own soil, The twin towers.

I used texture, colors that would really catch ones eye and show the statement that the day made one all of our lives.

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
Good or bad?

I like the color of sky and like very much the way you've depicted the buildings in black. The red doesn't work for me. It's too melodramatic and obvious in making your point. Also the cloud of smoke on top of the buildings has an unconvincing shape, like a hat, instead of the way actual smoke would look emerging from the fire.

Strong work! The buildings painted transparent is a good idea, it contributes to the telling. Whether the cloud should have this coloured focus or not, is up to you (of course!), I like the the brightness, maybe red is indeed, as tgsloth states, a little too much.
Why the black line a little above the bottom?
