I've been working to learn the broadstroke technique. This is the closest I've come so far, I think. I guess this technique has long been out of favor, as most seem to be striving for photo-realism. Still, it appeals to me.
I'm curious if anyone has any comments or opinions one way or the other.
This was in a 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" Stillman & Birn Zeta Series sketchbook. I know it's an affectation, but I have a collection of vintage (some from the 1950's) advertising mechanical pencils I enjoy using to sketch. I use vintage clay H, HB, 2B and 4B leads from Legendary Lead Company.
Any constructive criticism or thoughts on broadstroke would be appreciated.
Thanks for looking!
