Such lovely and luscious florals everyone! Mine is not finished as I'm getting ready to retire on the 31st and having nightmares about it, but 35+ years at one job is enough already, lol!

Sanlynn- Spectacular painting. LOVE it!
I used black film from Stampers Anonymous (I've seen people use the black polypropyline file folders.) You either mix the ranger white mixative (or pinata blanco) with the alcohol ink or layer the white then a color. It feels like acrylic painting to me. This is only the 2nd painting I've done on black. If you want to learn more about alcohol inks and are on Facebook: Alcohol Ink DPictors is a great group. I've also learned from https://sherylwilliamsart.com/ And there is also a community group which is also on Facebook. https://alcoholink.community/

Sandra - good job. I bet you could get a better photograph in good outdoor light. This one is a bit blurry. I like how yours look like pinwheels.

Rundun- love the wet on wet blending of color and the change from red to violet. Well done on the white one, too
Kay- classy, little stars. I really like the background. It is different. Lots of movement in this. Great job.

Sandy - that's a beautiful painting - thought it was pastel but I'm even more impressed with acrylics!

Imelda - both are very good paintings but I really do like that first for it's boldness!

Zelda - a lovely, delicate ray of frangipani!

Kay - your blooms are positively dancing - must be because you're actually on a 'high'!!! You'll love retirement - can we come to your party?

**********

Closing date is 31st but I'll start the Gallery today - I can always add any later works!

Re: The New Year Plant Parade a forum challenge January 2019

Happy New Year everyone. Thanks Dewi for gorgeous ref images and hosting as well as Maurine for helping.

I have not painted for a long while, more like doing sketching small things lately ... so it is good to try to paint with Plumeria.

a 9x12 inch watercolor on Fabriano

Hope to be back later for commenting. So far all works have been inspiring.
