Re: The New Year Plant Parade a forum challenge January 2019

Just had a quick look at all these gorgeous blooms - such pretty shapes and colours aren't they?

I'm checking entries for Dewi - who is having eye surgery today and we hope this will be the last time for her - ... and I have just returned from a hospital appointment so am unlikely to get my piece finished today

However, I know Dewi will be delighted with these entries and I shall make a Gallery for her at the end of the month - how time flies by!

I'll comment later - right now I must put the kettle on and make a cuppa!

Christel- Lovely work. I really like the pen one as it is a different style and can see you used your imagination to put some flair into it. More artsy. Nice light in the realistic one.

Bonnie- great job. Lovely colors. Nice light.

Meggs- love the glow around the flower. ANd super details on the yellow one.

Lil- interesting seeing how the backgrounds affect the look of the flower. Your rich, dark backgrounds are making them pop forward beautifully.

Oh good - more beauties added!

I've just finished mine and my eyes are begging for a rest - that's the trouble when staring at screens!

ArtRage app on tablet - pretend pastels this time - I know it could have more done to tidy it, but this is it!

I promise I will comment individually - but later.

On behalf of Dewi, thank you to all who have painted her gorgeous frangipani flowers.

Viv - Really lovely - yellow on black = very nice combination!

Christel
- these definitely catch the sun! - they seem imbued with light.
Love the pen/zentangle drawing!

Bonnie - this is truly exquisite! you've certainly hit on a winning combination here - gorgeous work.

Meggs - do hope you'll be back with us soon and hope all goes well on Tuesday ........ these two were lovely paintings and I like the clarity of shapes in the second.

Lil - two! Well done!! Love that red colour and the yellows in strong sunlight are very successful.

Tammy - the light on these blooms is lovely - like a night-time view!

Sandie - very pretty rendering of the soft yellows here - so glad you could join us.

Thank you for comments on mine.

I'm really impressed by the last 3 posts by Tam tam, Sandie and Maureen. These are really beautifully done. The gallery when it's done will be so colorful and beautiful. Thanks to Dewi for hosting.

Sandie- interesting how you used the shadow colors the same as the leaf colors. And the leaf colors go so well with the yellow you picked, like they have some of that yellow in them. Well done.

Maureen- a digital? I like how it looks "creamy"

Re: The New Year Plant Parade a forum challenge January 2019

Beautiful work so far.
Tam-Tam, I like the high contrast that you are able to achieve with the alcohol ink on black film. I would like to know more about the process.
I also had to look up ambersand, Bonnie. Something else new to me and interesting you can use watercolour on it. Do you seal it with something when you are finished?
Here is my attempt. It was very dreary here when I was working on it. May have overdone the brightness a bit. 8"X8" watercolour.

All the works are so beautifully rendered. My hat off to everyone. I find fauna very difficult to do. There is a lot to consider and get right. I can definitely work further on this but I donít know when the cut off is so Iím submitting mine now. It is on A4 paper and done with Acrylics. Thank you for allowing me to join in this months challenge.
