Use to denote nudity/mature subject matter Figure sketch in watercolor (after Boucher)

Title: Figure sketch in watercolor (after Boucher)
Year Created:
Medium: Watercolor
Surface: Watercolor Paper
Dimension: 9x12
Allow digital alterations?: Yes!

The sole purpose of this watercolor sketch is to gauge where I’m at and find out how to improve my skills moving forward. Hopefully I'll be posting more pictures here shortly to get more advice and feedback to give a better overall picture of my weak spots.

My aim is to discover my strengths and weaknesses, and want to know if there’s any obvious “nooby” beginner mistakes I’m making in my drawing/values/composition etc. I’ll be posting each work as I get back into drawing/painting in hopes of spotting any weak spots in the fundamentals. Any and all feedback appreciated.

a side by side compare for you

there's a foreshortening quirk in the leg/foot and the cheek is lost, but all in all not bad for such a messy reference ... do many, then many more

Aha...yes, I see it now (the foreshortening blooper.) That gets me every time! I also realized I posted the wrong image...I have one that’s a little more “done” but oh well. Thanks soooo much for the feedback!
