Unworkable title

Here is a piece I've spent the last week on. I originally titled it "Mother & Child" but friends and family find it too strong for that. The piece itself is 24"x48". Colours look a tad washed out in the photo. I would like to have any input on correcting this. I use Elements 6 to try and balance the photos but they end up looking as is the is a 5% white screen on them.
I welcome all comments.

Re: Unworkable title

Why did you name it "Mother and Child" ?

and why not use that name?

it does make me look at it differently than if you had called it something else.... and I do like this piece of art

do you want your fans and strangers to be influenced by a name or do you want us to make our own interpretations?

I personally find naming artwork to be instructive, but only your opinion actually matters as YOU are the artist.

Thanx 4 posting, this pleaseth our eye.

The sweeping red triangular planes look like wings to me. It looks like a colorful bird perched on a towering post. I also like the stairlike structure behind it. Wonderful interplay of shapes and colors!

A strong piece. If the colors look washed out here they must be really powerful in real life!

Re: Unworkable title

This looks great, I really like it. The colors look pretty strong on my screen, so they must be amazing in real life. I use photoshop to color correct my images But one thing I know is that everyone's monitor is very different and you will never get the colors right for everyone. I only worry about the screen image to a certain point.

I like the strength in this... My title contribution? 'Elemental, my dear...'

Wow! I think "Elemental, my dear" is a winner. Thanks for that.

Re: Unworkable title

It always seems I'm more successful naming others' work than my own... I follow Karin Jurick's daily blog. Not only is she a masterful painter but she gives her work the greatest titles... a lot of humor and thought goes into her titles.
