Hi Andy. Thank you for your comments. I appreciate them very much. If you find inspiration in viewing my work here then it makes it all worthwhile to post it. While I don't comment as much as I would like, I view many threads and find inspiration from others, as well. We all help and inspire each other in a visual voice, I believe.

Hi Larry.....I really like this painting very much. The way you have the focal point so pronounced and interesting. Well Done!

question for you .... where do you get all your leaves and flowers and eucalyptus sprigs? A florist? or do you use silk or artificial items for your still life? I have had trouble finding believable artificial anything.

Do you have another workshop planned? I checked your website and didn't see any coming up.

Hi Carl. Thank you very much for your comments regarding the painting. I appreciate it!

I have picked up quite an assortment of artificial stuff from various places such as Michael's, Hobby Lobby, and a few gift shops scattered around my area that keep some artificial flowers and fruit on hand. I've also found a couple of places on line that sell artificial fruit, but what I have isn't especially good quality. Most of the fruit items I use I buy from the grocery when I can. Michael's usually will have artificial eucalyptus and occasionally the real thing dried. I do have some silk stuff. I've gotten to the point of using most all of what I have for shape definition and then painting it from there. I can't pass up an antique store or junk store anymore without stopping and looking. About 25-30% of my studio is prop storage now.

I have a workshop scheduled in Neosho, Missouri November 2nd and 3rd. The details are posted on my website now. Would enjoy working with you!

regards,
Larry

Re: Medicine Bottle

Hi larry,

Its been ages since ive peeked in here. Yr painting is precious as always and topnotch.

Im sitting here in a tent with rain coming down- trying to get myself back into doing something worthwhile.
Weve been on the road again for awhile and this always happens to me. At least here where we are, for a month Ive set up this tent. This is always so disruptive to me.

Oh well no more whining !-- I love yr work.

Re: Medicine Bottle

Larry,

Always a pleasure seeing your paintings. This one is no exception. Just beautiful in every detail. If I didn't tell you before, congratulations in making the OPA national exhibition. I saw your painting in the catalog and it's a well deserved honor.

Randy
