Re: Acrylics Classroom: Engraved Wall Illusion

Sorry I fell down on the job! This is the spattering tool I spoke of earlier:

It's a Loew-Cornell #91 (I asume that means they carry other sizes too.)

You slide the wood dowl up and that inserts the metal stick up into the bristles and then you just twist the handle and WATCH it SPATTER! It works better then a toothbrush for all-over spatter. But the toothbrush works better for concentrated areas.

Hope this helps. Robin

Re: Acrylics Classroom: Engraved Wall Illusion

Thanks everyone for writing about my dad. He is doing very well. I'm exhausted lol... would like to get more than 2 or 3 hours of sleep before he wakes up and we're working on that part. Will be checking in on everyone's wall progress and hopefully will be able to get back to painting in the next few weeks in between the VA appts.

Lots of Love
Kenya

Kenya. Just caught up with your news about your dad's injuries. He sounds like a very loved and cared for dad. I wish him all the best.

Ann. Great strawberries!! They really do look good - and terrific cracks

Sam. I have to go away for 7-10 days, so will have to wait till then to start on this stage. Really looking forward to it!!

Go slow everyone, so I can catch up!!!!!

See you soon

Hello Folks
Sorry for the big delay but I finally got some breathing time and finished the painting.
Here it is all done with the little bird looking at the butterfly.

Robin, thanks for the pic of the splatter brush. I'll keep an out for one .

Dahlismarie, thank you so much for your comments on the berrries.

Sam, how cool. I wish the photo were bigger so I could have more of a "bird's eye" view

Re: Acrylics Classroom: Engraved Wall Illusion

Hi Everyone
Sam your art work is so beautiful and the bird goes so perfectly there, great choice for your wall. You have that special gift artists desire to have great job!!! I hope to take all the techniques you have taught us and use them over and over. I have enjoyed this class very much. Thanks for taking the time to teach us

Thanks everyone who's sent some love, hugs, and prayers for my Dad and me. He is doing wonderful here and i am rested up as well. All is good!

I have some new glasses to help me see better when i get my paints back out. I will be able to see details a LOT better without squinting so much. Haven't decided if i'm going to add the branches and a butterfly to the butterfly wall or not... if i do i will post it here when i get it finished. I have a pic of my husband's daughter that is done in blk/wht that keeps grabbing my interests so i might move on to that next may try to sketch first, just not sure yet

Re: Acrylics Classroom: Engraved Wall Illusion

Just peeking in from on holiday. Hurray for laptops!!

Sam, the bird is just beautiful!!! It really stands out!!!!! Can't wait till I get home and can have a go.
Of course, life is very, very hard on holiday. Every day I am forced to walk along the beach and feed on mangoes, prawns, crabs......so cruel

Kenya, so glad things are going well now.

Re: Acrylics Classroom: Engraved Wall Illusion

Gee life's tough DahlisMarie. Just wanted to tell you I'm back on line (again). Computer now has new brain with lots of memory!!

Sam and everyone I'm so impressed with all your work here. I'm only now catching up with WC. I've been going through withdrawal without my computer. I've tried to check in here and there from other computers but nothing consistent.

One day I might even find time to pick up a brush again!!

Re: Acrylics Classroom: Engraved Wall Illusion

Hi guys - we're wrapping this Class up now - don't you think Sam's done more than enough?
Moving it to it's new home, so if you do more, please post the work in your own thread - I can always link it here if you'd like me to
