Enameling jewelry with larger kiln

I have an Evenheat Hot Shot kiln for fusing glass, which I have had for quite some time. My interests have changed and I now do a lot of enameling of jewelry. While I know this larger kiln will accomodate this type of enameling, I'm trying to figure out how to best and safely use it for this technique. Since it is a top loader, I'm not sure how to easily and quickly get my items in and out of it and also be safe. Anyone have any suggestions?
