Re: The Spotlight - August 2015 - Vacation

JudiB, I love you sky. And that tree on the left...behind the bridge....perfect! Just beautiful. I can hear the wooden road rattle as the car comes through. So picturesque. A very nice scene.
Happy to say "hello". C and C always welcome.

Wow! I love this! The way the bridge is leaning looks natural, like it's old and hasn't been shored up recently. Love the trees and the texture, the clouds in the sky, the overall feel of the painting. The colors are striking, all the greens very blued and still vibrant, the whole scene drawing me in.

You might want to go in and add slight color variegations to the gray road leading to the bridge, using very muted colors maybe warms, rusty grays, violet grays, green grays like moss here and there. Those areas seem a little flat but not too much, don't overwork it, just glaze in some color variations with something like thunderstorm grays or maggie price grays. Any colors that are only one step off gray would work. That and maybe a dash of olive green in the nearest tree highlights and I'm not so sure of the olive green.

It's wonderful as is, that's the only suggestions I have that'd improve it. If you don't have the muted grays maybe mix some gray with the most muted colors you have on a side sheet, then pick it up with a finger and dab it in.

JudiB, that's terrific! Those old covered bridges are so nostalgic, and I agree with Jay that the sky and the tree on the left are just stunning. Good job!
Blayne C & C always welcome

Thank you, all, for the comments! Rob, I will see what I can do with your suggestions. I agree, there needs to be some variation in the road.
this was something a little different for me, and I enjoyed it.

C&C always welcomed and appreciated
