Marie-Dom, how delightful to see you joining in!

Belegwen, this is beautiful! Coincidentally, Hugh Hill named this photo "Sad Angel", though he uploaded it under a different name. The wings make a wonderful added touch.

If I can find time, I'll give the first photo a try. It is very tempting.

This is my first attempt at a small child. I just couldn't resist the adorable photo.

I'll lighten the hair tomorrow. Its an 8" x 10" Canvas Panel. Acrylics, oil pastels and gel pens....and glitter on the t-shirt.

What a lovely way to spend an evening, thank you!

Cheers
Lee

Re: Join us in painting and drawing from the same reference! 12-05

I did buy the little canvas for the child portrait yesterday so hope to get it started soon. I have a few jobs to finish but this'll make a nice in between piece for me. Gives me some more practice with expressive portraits in acrylic.

The second ref. I like as a photo already; it's already artistic and graphic in style and I'd find it hard to be creative with. But, it is a lovely portrait. It'd make a nice large airbrush painting.

Thanks for running it this month Eileen.

At first I wanted to go for oil but as a result of limited time I made this portrait in pastel.
Used pastel pencils and pastel chalk on sandgrinded paper.

Don't know if I'm done yet, have a look at it for some days. (this portrait took me aproximately four hours.

Uploading I see could have used more shading on the right cheek and forehaed......

The paintings are wonderful. The photos are great. I like them both. Can I come into this forum?

Gorgeous painting Ria. I feel like I can reach out and touch the hair.

I've never taken part in an exercise like this before. Its so interesting. I can't wait to see some other paintings of Jordan.

Inspired by your paintings, I did a , Digital photo painting, by pushing pixels around, in a multi-layered fashion...

Well, my picture is an "almost Jordan." LOL
Not too bad for a first try, I guess. I may work on it more later.
