Re: Name that Portrait! November 2005

Yes, and I'll leave it to someone else
For other mystery masterpiece (MM) check this link

This one, Eileen is very beautiful.
While in Paris, there was this artist in the gallery room of the museum, whith his easel, paint, brushes and art supply , copying this work.
Both were awsome...

Re: Name that Portrait! November 2005

Yes, a wonderful reason for being MIA.

I'm horrible when it comes to this type of game. I never know who did what, but I enjoy seeing and learning the names. Art history and I never got along too well. I just didn't care WHO did what, I just liked looking at the work! LOL! Now I want to know the names and learn more about different artists.

Can't help with this new one seeing as I am completely dumb due to my childish lack of caring when I was a kid. (Now you see why I was so excited when I learned I had gotten that Picasso right! LOL!)

Manet's portrait of Berthe Morisot. C'mon, Eileen, give us another one.

Isn't that by Leonardo Da Vinci?
Doncha love the way the figure dissolves into the background?

Good catch Graham! . . . and the last one was a Manet. Sorry, I had not been looking . . .

Very good choices, Eileen!

Re: Name that Portrait! November 2005

OK.
I am sorry but my library of portraits is not very large.
I think you will find this one pretty easy. I haven't been able to find a signature on it.
I will be a way for a few days Eileen, but I am sure you will be able to arbitrate.

Graham

Van Gogh's "Girl In White," 1890. It's at the Nat. Gall. of Art in Washington.

OK Eileen, in bluewindfisher's absence do your stuff. Thanks.
