I’m doing the 30 Faces in 30 Days challenge starting Jan 1. I need to get paper and will likely have to order it.

I’ve used Strathmore 300 Series Smooth Bristol paper for graphite portraits before. Just wondered if the Strathmore Series 400 Smooth Bristol is better?

Better based on ease of erasing, blending, durability, look of finished piece?

From my experience the only significant difference is the rag content. Series 400 has more cotton than series 300. I have done a lot with series 500 but in the plate finish so it doesn’t really count. Of the three series, most of my earlier work has been done with series 300 smooth.
