Shipbroker RIP

http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/memb...ster&t=1426860

Shocking news that a regular in the Watercolour forum Geoffrey Fletcher died yesterday form prostate cancer.

Until recently he shared the opening of the "Daily Wash" with me, living in Yorkshire.

Geoff was a keen caravanner and was always on hand to help is friends.

He is sadly missed by his wetcanvas friends.

Re: Shipbroker RIP

Geoff was a man of few words with a wonderful sense of humor. He regularly sent me funny cartoons and notes. In fact, last week, I received a one word e-mail from him...Hi. He knew that I was recovering from back surgery. I responded, and I truly hope he was able to read that I was doing fine.

Eileen and Claire, I hope you know how much Geoff treasured both of you.

Claire, He was so proud that you were following your heart and traveling.

Geoff will forever be a part of my heart!

Re: Shipbroker RIP

While I never had the privilege to meet Geoff in real life like some of you, his daily presence in our little group was always a good start to the day. His wit was dry and subtle and always on point. I shall miss this Washer friend.

My thoughts and condolences to Eileen and Claire. Claire, your father was so proud of you and what you were doing, it was very evident whenever he posted about you.

RIP our Washer friend....your storm is over, the sun is shining.

Steve.

Re: Shipbroker RIP

Geoff was always one of the first to say Hello to his friends from around the world in The Daily Wash. His presence there will be missed by all of us.

My condolences to his dear wife and daughter Eileen and Claire.

RIP dear Geoff.

Re: Shipbroker RIP

I'm very sorry for your loss, Eileen and Claire! Geoff was a very special part of our daily lives, always here opening the first few posts in the Wash. A man of few words, we knew how proud he was of you, his family. And he included Christine as a close friend, also.

RIP Geoff... paint the clouds.

Re: Shipbroker RIP

Geoff will always have a piece of my heart. He would send me funny emails that were always a surprise. I treasure his last email to me last Wednesday, just one word, “Hi!” I responded asking him if he was OK. He never sent another, but in his last week he reached out to me. He adored his wife and daughter and always had another adventure planned. His weather and sleep reports will be missed. He was always there for his friends who needed him. Rest easy Geoff!

Re: Shipbroker RIP

I was so sorry to learn of Geoff's passing. He was usually the second person to welcome the day on the Wash, and sometimes, to his surprise, the first one to post. I am new-ish to the Wash and didn't have the opportunity to get to know him. My condolensces to his family, who he loved, and his friends, both in real life and online. You are in my prayers as you navigate life without his presence.

~ Carol
