Re: The 15th Annual WetCanvas Holiday Portrait Swap -- Pairing, Sharing & Painting Thread

I have made more progress. the canvas is about half covered. I tried to upload a progress pic but the site won't let me. I even turned off my firewall to no avail. I will eventually figure it out but for now its not working. I will email the pic to Dea to upload at some point.
I like what i see Dea. i have no experience with pastels but i have seen some lovely things done with them. There is a youtuber named cuong i like to watch who uses underlayers in pastels.
All the submissions look very good!
BTW, I saw some comments about the Carder Method and I use it exclusively. I also primarily use Geneva paint. The best thing about the system is that it is non toxic. there is no solvent in the paint and the brushdip is only safflower oil. I rarely clean brushes because the dip never dries. if i do clean them i use linseed oil soap. i use 90% alcohol to clean my palette. I can go several sessions without ever using any OMS. I highly recommend it if you want to paint in oil.

I am impressed with all the work done, so far. I get distracted for a day or seven and look what happens! LOL! I will get back to work on Ricky after Thanksgiving. Have a good week, everyone. 😀

Ok .. wish me luck ....here goes - There comes a time in every portrait where - no matter how much more you are tempted to do you have to sign it and stop - I was enjoying redoing my shadows and dark tones that I could have kept going --- but Im now done and here it is - this is the finished product - signed sealed and soon to be delivered

Re: The 15th Annual WetCanvas Holiday Portrait Swap -- Pairing, Sharing & Painting Thread

Dea, Mikeís portrait looks beautiful.
Sandra keep going. Iím sure youíll do fine, i had to leave town for about a week for Thanksgiving with the kids. I havenít been able to do a thing. It is getting to me not being able to paint. I have been doing some crafts with the kids but they seem to lose interest quickly. I still want to be creating and they are off doing other things.
Everyone whoís have Thanksgiving Have a nice one and for those of you who arenít well will set a plate for you in Denver. Happy thanksgiving.
