Arthur: thank you for your support and encouragement. It took me awhile to get out of my own way and just enjoy the process. I am so passionate about drawing I want each piece to be a celebration of my subject. At first I was intimidated, feeling like I bit off more than I could chew. But once I stopped worrying and started having fun, I just got into a rhythm.
floblue: thank you so much!!!
Ginny: I'm so glad you got the portrait, I hope you like it. I wanted to create something special, especially after the beautiful portrait you did of me. I'm sorry it took so long, I was a little intimidated, scared, nervous, had panic attacks in the beginning....and I don't know why. I love drawing and love drawing people most of all. I guess I feel into the trap of wanting to draw like my artistic heroes. I forgot that I can't draw like anyone but myself. No matter how much I master a technique, my work won't look like anyone elses but my own. It wasn't until I went back to basics and remembered that lesson, that I really started believing that I could do it.
Thank you again everyone for the support, encouragement, and kind words; and most of all your patience with me. I'm sorry it took so long for me to complete Ginny's portrait. I hope to continue participating in the group and learning from all of you and growing as an artist. I put so much pressure on myself because I want my drawings to be more than just lines on a piece of paper, I want my drawings to be a celebration of life.
