Re: QDC--Quick Dry Café: September 2019

Stormy today. Trying to catch up with the power flickering once in a while.

Anyone play Merge Dragons? They decided to have a weekday 24 hour event. I already waste most of my weekends trying to do the events, now weekdays too?

Take care Howard, and give Betty a big hug.

Re: QDC--Quick Dry Café: September 2019

I did complete the event yesterday lol. I've played a lot of Freecell too, and other solitaire games. Used to have a bunch of them on my computer many years ago and I would play and listen to Erasure for hours.

I keep my iPad by the computer so I can sometimes play on both at the same time.

Nice day today, I better get outside for a while, my garden is a mess.

Re: QDC--Quick Dry Café: September 2019

We've had perfect 'gardening weather' for the past ten days or so, hence no painting being done ... I'm either out from home or out in the garden! It's set to change on Sunday/Monday, maybe the easel will get a visit then!!

I have a watermelon on a vine. It is about the size of a tennis ball. The first time ever.

Re: QDC--Quick Dry Café: September 2019

I bought watermelon vines on a whim this year, they came as a pair. I got 3 watermelons from them! Ate one, one in the fridge now, and one still out there, though the vine looks mostly dead already.

Yesterday was nice, tackled some weeds. The dill has really taken over along with the other less wanted weeds. I think it will be easier to just clear everything at once later. And today is another rainy day. So I guess I will paint and play Merge Dragons lol.

Re: QDC--Quick Dry Café: September 2019

It's been a perfect September day, beautiful soft light, warm .... the gardener spent 4hours cutting the bushes, digging borders and tidying perennials for winter so this afternoon I've planted a hundred daffodil bulbs, half a dozen wallflowers and some cyclamen ... now need to go buy primulas and more wallflowers if I can get them.... and bark mulch to top up the rest..... lovely to see my front garden looking tidy again!

Re: QDC--Quick Dry Café: September 2019

That sounds like it will be great come spring, Maureen. I spent the day finishing a simple Japanese inspired bridge for the garden (emphasis on simple), working on my DS painting and doing chopping of veg for a lasagna for tomorrow night's dinner.

But we did take advantage of the last afternoon of summer to sit out and have a gin & tonic!

Re: QDC--Quick Dry Café: September 2019

That sounds like a lot of work Colin ... I'd like a pond and bridge but wouldnt5 like the cleaning, that's why we resisted temptation for a pond!
G&T - a perfect conclusion!

Re: QDC--Quick Dry Café: September 2019

Wow! It sounds as if everyone has been having nice gardening weather and taking advantage of it. Me Too! It actually cooled down a little and I was on the hunt for weeds (not very hard to find, lol) then put down new mulch in a couple places where it was getting thin. Not that it makes any difference to the weeds, they just come up anyway. Last night I shampooed the living room and hallway carpet. This morning I shampooed the bedroom carpet and mopped the other floors. Don't know what got into me. Hope the weather continues to be nice, I need to do more outside.

Re: QDC--Quick Dry Café: September 2019

It's been so quiet here. I did cut my grass on Monday, and my throat started feeling sore while I was doing it. Was feeling worse by bedtime and I've been pretty sick since then, stuffed up and so tired. So I haven't been getting anything done. And this morning there is frost.
