Smile P&I Forum Monthly Challenge - July

Welcome to our forum challenge for JULY 2019 in which we continue our encouragement to Draw from Life!

The aim is to capture our own personal and individual moments and share them here on this thread!

All suggestions/subjects/themes come from those who participate!

** As you post your own drawing in this thread, please then also suggest ONE subject/topic for next month. One entry = One suggestion for the following month .... another entry? - another suggestion!

By the end of the month we should have a range of ideas from which you can choose – and please do feel free to discuss any of the suggestions raised: who knows, you may even start keeping your own private list for future ideas!**

One important rule -Entries must be at least 75% pen and ink in any colour - and wash or colour may be added.

********************************************

Your topics for this month are .....

Something in your yard/garden.

something that provides light

Night life

a pen and ink portrait

birds of any kind

groceries still life

Something hidden in the basement

Lovely sinuous shape!
Nice viewpoint too - were you in an upper room at the time?

I had made friends and it was winding its way around my shins.

That's what I thought the cat was doing when I looked at this. That's a great POV!

Love your cat Van Andrew fresh and original. I did an animal too.. nearly a cat.. a Meerkat. Portrait of a meerkat. Posca pens, microns Pitt pens. Suggestion for next month, TREES.

Re: P&I Forum Monthly Challenge - July

Thank you Maureen yep I love them too they are just so irresistible. I painted two together the other day looking as if one is kissing the other although it is more likely that he/she was looking for a flea on the other one hehe.

Re: P&I Forum Monthly Challenge - July

A wonderful perspective to your slinky cat Vanandrew and Magdalenel your Meerkats eyes are captivating. I have to admit I was struggling with the options this month, and then I came across this old water pump in
A front garden and it was too good to pass up. So once again I'm stretching the criteria a little☺
A5 sketch book, uni pen 0.3, 0.1, India Ink Intense block for wash plus a touch of veridian for the pump. Next month - a bridge.

Thanks potterspink and great job with the vintage water pump. I love everything vintage I have painted one of those before in an acrylic painting since they are so eyecatching.

Magdalene, The lemur is adorable, his eyes are so beautiful.

Potterspink, when I as growing up in Ontario, we would get water from those kinds of pumps at the campgrounds when we were on canoe trips, your pump took me right back. I like your style, it's very appealing.
