Aravaipa Canyon AZ - A beautiful wilderness area with great hiking, it can be quite a " wet " experience.

22.5 x 30.0 Chroma Interactive acrylics applied with palette knife on a full sheet of 300lb rough watercolor paper in a loose impressionistic style with a touch of semi abstract passages.

This is a repurposed painting - that is to say - i painted over an existing piece that I no longer cared for.

Re: Weekly paintings Southwest & Florida

The light and shadows in this is beautiful! What do you mean it can be "wet"?

Lovely and unusual combination of colours in this Richard. I like how the light is showing through the mountains. Super!

I like the big red bluffs. It is gloomy here today, I needed the sunshine and Arizona. Thanks.

Turquoise Dominance - 24x18 on 225lb heavy linen paper with Chroma Interactive acrylics applied quickly with palette knife in a loose expressionistic style with semi abstract passages.

Turquoise is a BIG color in our home and I had a dream about a turquoise paint last nite and did this after breakfast!

Wow, Richard, you are painting a mile a minute! I can't keep up with all your great new works. I must say though, that of these three new ones, Mesas Bordered by Prairie is quite stunning. Makes me think of a mirage for some reason. Nice work on all of them, as always!

I love turquoise too Richard and use it in some of my works. Even though we think of turquoise seas as being a summer warm colour it can appear quite a cool colour depending on what is mixed with it. Lovely painting, it has some nice drama in the sky.

Mesas Bordered By Prairie is gorgeous! I don't know what that gold color is, but it really draws me in - a stunning piece!

Turquoise Dominance is awesome! I love turquoise - that sky and the rolling waves are spectacular!
