Charity Icon Thicker/Gel - MethylCellulose

Hello, have anyone MethylCellulose tested for Acrylics and/or for WMOs ... ?!?!?!

I would test/probe a 'new' medium for thicken the paint - like gel or similar (or more thicker for 'full' impasto work)
-> for my WMOs i make WaxMedium [CREAMYwax] too ;-)

I hear (and read) its possible for all colours & mediums ... ?!?!

Also for Acrylic !!!???!!!

Because i would switch from manufacture-products (like Schmincke, Artisan, ...) to 'selfmade' from the ingridients !!!
Example: for Acrylic-Retarder -> i bought Glycerin and mixed that with DistilledWater (1:5 in a small wetting/mist-spray) --> for me it works SUPERb
Liquitex Wetting Palettespray -> as above but AcrylicResin added (Lukas Medium 2) [1 : 0.3-0.5 : 5] ...

AND NOW i would also test, WATERmixableOIL-WAX (my CREAMYwax) add as Acrylic'Medium' ... -> i must Test in some days !!!?!!! (i know wax/oil and water ... - but this are not 'normals' -> so i test ;-))

ALSO i would make a 'global' ThickerGelMedium - for use with Oil/WMO, Acrylic (and Gouache - if possible) ... !!!?!!!

Have any from you use or test it - or worked with it !?!?!
• i mean (mostly & primary) "MethylCellulose"

THXS,
DECiNERGY

Thumbs up Re: Thicker/Gel - MethylCellulose

CREAMYmc BASIS

YES, it worked - fantastic !!!
For Acrylic, Oil/WMOs (and Gouache) ...

It also thin the paint - if you make MethylCellulose-Paste more 'fluidy' ...
-> so it's a 'Thinner' & Impasto-Medium !!!

In Acrylic it hold the color longer open & wet - but the paintlayer/-film is then 100% acrylic-hard !!!

In Acrylic i make picture - since 2 days it looks great ! No problems ...
In Oil/WMO it looks also good - but must longer wait (if cracking or so - momently it's great !?!)

I also mix it with some mediums too - acrylic with other gels or with my Glycerin-Retarder ...
And in WMOs with Artisans/Lukas-Mediums & CobraPaste AND WITH MY CREAMYwax !!! GENIAL!

P.S.: MC is a 'Binder' that make Oil & Water workable - like Egg in Tempera ...

So i gave also a mix from MC and my WaxMedium to Acrylic ... Very smooth and 'body' - but since a day hard like Acrylic ;-)

BUT: i gave in every product its 'binders' with MC.

in Acrylic i gave max. 30-40% MC, then Lukas Medium 3 (WMO-FastDrying, but it is full AcrylicResin) into the paint - sometimes other gel ...
Or 30% MC into ~20% CREAMYwax and that mix into AcrylicPaint ...
Same by WMOs - i add 'always' an 'own'Product to it -> in Oil any ArtisanProduct for 'binding'
In Gouache was it GumArabic (and sometimes a mix from little OxGail with GumArabic) with MC.

Best Regards,
DECiNERGY
