Having a hard time making time to paint this week. 9″ 12″ watercolor on Strathmore 400. About 45 minutes on the sketch and another hour on paint so far spread over three short sessions. Long way to go. Probably too ambitious for a week I knew I would be busy.

        C&C always welcomed.

                            Thanks again for the encouragement.

I started trying to paint in the blossoms but it wasn’t working so I scrubbed them out and just started experimenting with flat colors. I figure if I learn something from each one it isn’t a waste. I learned that Cerulean Blue and Yellow didn’t make a very good green, but Prussian Blue and Yellow does, And wait for the paper to get a little drier before trying to splatter.

Colors are a bit off from real life, but close.

                            Thanks for hosting Susan.

The colours are great, who cares if it’s not exact, it’s art not a photograph.
