Hello all! This is one of my latest painting done on a 9 x 12 in. aluminum panel. For this painting I used raw umber, burnt umber, burnt sienna, yellow ochre, lead tin yellow, venetian red, viridian, cobalt blue, van dyck brown, and flemish white.
Comments and critiques are welcome. Thanks for looking!!!

Your subjects are uniquely original and I feel myself engaging with them and reflecting on my own life through them. One suggestion – just maybe slightly darker shadows to give the painting more depth.

September 7, 2018 at 6:18 am #688766The depth in the card is very effective. The 3-dimensional nature of the “pop-up”-style card feels very real. I can imagine it in my hands.
The background is very flat. Some of the card edges are TOO soft and blended – they make me want to clean my glasses and blink so I can focus.

Only critique I can think of is that the paint texture is a bit fuzzy and the values are similar overall – perhaps add some real darks or super brights and a crisp edge somewhere.September 19, 2018 at 5:58 pm #688759When I see your username, I always wonder what will be there when opening the thread and, I’m never disappointed.
