New Pastels Tryout

Been too busy recently catching up, but made space to try out a lovely set of Sennilier pastels. I like them a lot . Pastel pencils used to add details.
C&C appreciated.
Thanks for looking.

Re: New Pastels Tryout

These are both great. I like the strong dark/light contrast in the first and the red-orange next to the green-blue of the river in the first. The Painting really zings.

I also like the softer transitions of value in the second making for a softer atmosphere.

I agree with the others, Arnie; these are beautiful! I really like your delicate touch with tree leaves.

Re: New Pastels Tryout

Great colors and contrast in that first one - perfect greens and blues, with little bits of other colors in there, too.

The second one is subtle, but it also works nicely, as a soft contrast - a sea of greens - where one can take a break on a hazy day.
