Fish Creek Falls
Oil and palette knife on canvas. Used a photo from my recent trip to Colorado for a workshop.

Re: Fish Creek Falls
Nice knife work...where was the workshop? Was it by any chance in the Manitou - Green Mountain Falls area?

Re: Fish Creek Falls
Hi Becca - I was at a workshop in Steamboat Springs, CO with Keith Bond. He is an excellent teacher! Thanks for your comments. I checked out your work - are your sp's done with knife as well? They are wonderful.
I'd like to check out your blog, but when I click, I get a screen that asked me to sign in to create a blog.

Re: Fish Creek Falls
Laura, I know that area, it is fairly close to Manitou too...sounds wonderful..I should plan to attend some workshops out there too..
Thank you for looking at my work. Yes, I use the knife with much of my painting now...I like it a lot.
And, I have shut my blog down at least for the time as it has been inflected with serious popup issues and I am trying to find out how to get rid of the problem..thank you for asking.

Re: Fish Creek Falls
Hi Laura,
Very nice work. I like the vertical format you've used...keeps the eye right on that stream meandering up into the hills. Very cool place for a workshop.

Laura, I need to say our Internet Sales portion of the Business Forum here is amazing. I posted my issues with my blog and they have helped me determine the issue is likely on my computer, so the blog is back in my signature and anyone can access it now..just thought I would let you know..

Re: Fish Creek Falls
Laura, your piece is beautiful - eye catching. I like the distance shown, great work on the water stream and rocks - nicely cascading downward. Impressive knife work on the trees.

Re: Fish Creek Falls
Thank you everyone! I had not realized I had so many comments after Becca's! I never received any email notices. Becca - I'll definitely check out your blog. It's hard to find blogs of artists that work with knife.

Nice, earthy colors - gives it a feeling of an "Old Master's" painting.

Re: Fish Creek Falls
I am seriously impressed! It's lovely and very detailed to have been done with a knife. I have a lot of respect for someone who can do that.
