This is the view on the way up Arthur’s Seat in edinburgh looking across Holyrood Park. Second outing of my new Carbothello pencils with soft conte pastels also.
I like the feeling of distance too and the way the shapes of land fit together with their various natural colors. Did you paint this outdoors? It has a fresh, unfussed with feeling.
Ah no, it was very very windy and cold that day. It was based on a photo I took half way up the climb and because of the size (A4) I couldn’t make it too detailed so I tried to focus on capturing the atmosphere and the sunbeam hitting the grass.
