I have long argued that the WC photography board has about half a dozen active supporters on a good day.
Therefore a single forum should suffice until such time as it has more active members.
Additional sub forums is like trying to cut a banana to feed six people.
btw, what's happened to Natalie?

Yes, I was saying just leave off the Best of thread and see how it goes.
That is, until I read Marks comment above, in agreement.
One category would probably serve this small group just fine.
It seems as if the Pub is the most active thread.
Sometimes I just don’t have time to respond to 5 separate threads along with the Daily.

Just to throw my two pennyworth in here, I always see the Photography forum as for elite photographers using SLR cameras and the like. I am loth to post phone shots (these being 99% of what I take these days).

Maybe if it was clear that all photos were welcome it might attract more members to the forum

Hi Yorky!
All photos are welcome by members at any level of expertise,
with any type of camera that they have.

At the core of the problem is the restriction on image size. In twenty years of sharing on fora, the most successful were those that were able to accommodate larger image sizes (e.g., Flickr).
Those that did not, (e.g., Epson Photo, Photo Camel) lost memberships, and no longer exist. Until WC recognises this, it may well go the same way. But it is all about investment and revenue.
Remember that WC, as its name implies, is foremost a Painting forum with Photography a very minor sub forum, it's revenue source is from art materials advertising, not camera companies

First, thanks for the nice reception given to my photo of Pippin. Yes, he's photogenic. But he doesn't usually pose well - I got lucky this time.

Second, lots of cogent thoughts on the Darkroom and the "Best Stuff..." thread. I have a number of initial ideas, but I'm still working on clarifying them and bringing them together into a coherent overall recommendation. So this isn't the right time (and maybe not the right place) for me to present my incomplete opinion on this important issue.
