Wow, your work is always impressive! I love your detail, hard to believe it's pastel.

Re: Primary Box - Little Box Series

Dianna: I have always been a fan of photo realism, especially the still life works of Ralph Goings and Idelle Weber, one of the leading woman current artists in this style. She was my professor at NYU.
What I love about your fabulous still life is the personal and unique touch that you instill in the work. It is beyond the photo real. It has a real life presence. I am so glad I stopped in to see such a terrific rendering in pastel.

Thank you all! And wow, Derek....while I'm happy to be compared to such 'uncomparables'....I would never strive to be in that league.

Re: Primary Box - Little Box Series

Amazing! I can hardly believe this is pastel. How do you get such crisp clean looking lines?

Re: Primary Box - Little Box Series

Hi Brooke and welcome to Wet Canvas. How do I get such crisp lines...well, sometimes with pencils, sometimes but putting down a paper mask, sometimes by using a colour shape... but most often just by blending with my fingers.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Cheers, Dianna

Re: Primary Box - Little Box Series

I think this has to be one of my favorites Dianna...or do I say that every time I see a new one from you? I love how rubbery the top of the glue bottle looks, how those paper men are delicately balancing on everything else, how those tiny bits of cut up paper add to the story and just the whole mood of the painting!
