Jacqui - Thank you. Nice shading on your frog and pine cone. Love the washy look to the red cap. Good lines on the sleeping cat.

Ai - Thanks. Cute dog sketch! How is the rest of Bangkok doing after the floods? Have they receeded yet in most areas?

Kivrin - Thank you. Good shading to show the shine of the pot. I love the shape of that!

No new sketches from me.

Kivrin: Thanks. Great job with the shine on the kettle.

Joan: Thanks. There are still lots of Bangkok area under the flood. Some areas have water sitting there for 5 weeks now. We are just lucky that the water from the north flows four miles away from our home. So our little gate community are safe and dry. They said that this flood is a rare one, the last flood disaster that occured in Thailand in this size of damage was 50 years ago.

Re: Scavenger Hunt #245 - Nov 11 - Nov 19

No new sketches either but wanted to comment..

Jacqui - Thanks for the kind words. Apparently those with drafting experience know them well. Love Lego man....my son was a big Lego fan. we had thousands. Hmmmmm Think they are up in the attic, need to clean out one day. Love th froggy sketch. Could have used cat sketch for peaceful. He looks content.

jo - I can kind of play it. I cannot play written pieces. The sound and scales allow for making noise that sounds nice despite not being a composed piece. Nice pen sketches, Chandelier is my fav..nice work.

Ep - nice set of sketches... love the penguins. I also like the loose look of ink and wc you achieve

Joan - Thanks for kind words.St Patty's is great as is the skyline for angles. Very NYC!

Kivrin - Nice shading on the glass mug and the planter. Brass or copper?

Bonnie - nice sketches. Love your sketch of DH Dad portrait.

Annie - Yes the flute has a bear fetish for a tune hole cover. I have no dratting experience. The antique pencils were my dad's. He was a machinist and did some design drafting. The new ones I have collected. I had about 3 different sharpeners bit only one I can find lately is one of those heavy desktop units for them.

Ai - Thanks for kind words. Hope you, family and piano are all dry. Sketch of Lily is precious. Love that your sketches document your family

See y'all in next hunt
Joe

Re: Scavenger Hunt #245 - Nov 11 - Nov 19

Annie, forgot to tell you about the cups. I had a mug collection over the years. Probably 250 cups with 20 of those for Christmas. My husband put his foot down a few years ago and forbid any more cups/mugs. A friend made me a thimble sized cup with my name on it to bug Gene, but over all I did pretty well in not buying more. So here on the Hunts I always comment when cups are drawn that they are for my collection. I kept some aside and posted my collection. You can see about my cups including the Hunt cups here on my blog

It was interesting to try to think of them after the fire for the inventory. Much of the pottery and china did not break in the fire. Not really usable as other things melted and stuck to them. Guess they were already "fired". Sigh...
