First: Thank you to everyone that responded to my first post. There was a lot of great feedback there, and, as noted there, I decided to attempt the Flemish technique for this painting (after watching a bunch of youtube vids and checking out a bunch of web tutorials, I decided to give it a shot) that was suggested. I do
think that things came out a lot
better with this, and with a lot more practice, this might work out! I can't begin to say how appreciative I am of this site. It is nice to post something, and getting feedback besides "LEARN TO PAINT, NOOB!"... :P
I would like to hear any feedback on this, as it would be appreciated...
I do have to say, though... I am sorely tempted to give oils a chance (even after dumping a ton into acrylics). I hate the idea of waiting weeks/months for things to dry... (I know there are 'work arounds' to get faster drying times... But...)... It is just that, even with the slo-dri (Liquitex) and glazing medium (Golden) that I tried (in several heavy to light ratios), it helps some, but with the thin glazing-style... It can still be rough to get things done quickly enough... Oh, well... I'm sure that I'll figure something out.
Thanks for looking!
