Italian Relics
Hello all! This is my latest painting done on a 18 x 24 in. canvas. For this painting I used van dyck brown, burnt sienna, yellow ochre, venetian red, genuine naples yellow light, viridian, ultramarine blue, ivory black, and cremnitz white.
Comments and critiques are welcomed. Thanks for looking!!

Re: Italian Relics
Looks very nice. I would have used a smaller canvas and painted less wall. I think that would have made for a better stiff life.

Nice work! , I like the angle from which you have painted this ,but I do agree with Paul , the wall is alittle over powering to the objects youve beautifully painted in this...
ps, Paul thats a new one for me "Stiff Life"

Re: Italian Relics
Thank you, Paul, Sandra and Red 9, for all your kind comments. For a while I thought of painting this in a smaller canvas..but all I had was an 18 x 24 stretcher..so I decided to stretch a canvas there and start painting. I have a carpenter friend who does the stretchers for me, so it won´t be too difficult to have it stretched in a 18 x 23 canvas instead. It will be my first time trying to stretch a finished painting on another stretcher..but I might give it a try ;-).

Re: Italian Relics
Nice painting but I would have liked to have seen the vase a little larger so that it was on a different level to the plate.
Is that you hiding in the reflection?

Hi, Marion! Thank you for your kind comments and observations.
Yes, that is me hiding on the reflection, I´m there painting that scene. I thought it was a neat idea to suggest that I was there painting behind the painting.

Re: Italian Relics
Jose, you asked for c&c--that vase is Italian all right, it has some relation to the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Nicely done, and I too, like that reflection. You have a good touch, I think.

Re: Italian Relics
Thank you, Lawrence, for your kind critique..you do have a good sense of humor, lol. I will see if I can change that vase a bit, to make it look more symetrical.
Thank you, Crafor! I appreciate your kind comments.
