Flying Owl

Here's my latest. Haven't found much time to draw lately. Just barely got one in for the monthly challenge last month and probably won't get one this month. Drawing time seems to come in spurts.

11" x 9" on Bristol Smooth 500. Rotring 0.18 Pen.

Re: Flying Owl

Thanks guys!

Cem: Your work is quite nice. No need to down play it. I look forward to your washes each time you post one.

Doug105: Tough to say how much time went into it. I do drawing here and there and I would guess there was somewhere between 8 and 10 hours into this one.

People ask me that every once in a while, and it's really hard for me to estimate. I keep saying I should keep track of the time for one drawing.

Beautiful, Scott. Just beautiful. I admire your pen work. Love the placement on the page, too.

I do that for big pieces (anything over 11 x 14), just because I don't do many that big, and it amuses me to know...

Scott, this is a very nice piece. I love this place! Seems like we've got artists drawing pretty much anything you could ask for -- landscapes, street scenes, animals, people, abstract... Lots of diversity here on the Pen & Ink forum

Re: Flying Owl

Looks awesome to me! I love how the use of the darks and whites give it a nice contrasty feel.
