Post Project Discussion: Zentangle Exchange

A new project has been announced in the WetCanvas! project system!

Title: Zentangle Exchange
Project Leader: IrishRose
Relative Difficulty: Irrelevant
Type Restrictions: Drawing
Medium: Pen and Ink
Subject: Not Applicable
Days open for signups: 30
Maximum participants allowed: 21

Description:

Since Zentangles seem to be all the rage lately, I think it's time to have some fun and exchange them. You'll be required to make 20 Zentangles (to learn more about Zentangles (which is a copyrighted word), go to www.zentangle.com for more information). Zentangles are patterns that are drawn in a 3x3 inch square. You start by drawing a 'string' in the square in which to base your patterns. The patterns can be anything! It should be drawn in ink and colored in if you would like. I'd like to keep the size down to small .. either the 3" square tile or an ACEO. Let's have some fun.. I can't wait to see everyone's patterns.

One note: Please do not sign up unless you are committed to do all 20 Zentangles within a few months as well as participate in the thread. I've noticed that many people sign up, do the cards, but hardly say a word or comment on other people's work. This exchange is all encompassing.. that means being a part of the fun on the thread and interacting with others as well as making art. Anyone can contribute cards and call it a day, but this is all about feedback and feeling good about creating!

Please PM me with name/address when you sign up and I will get a list made up when the project is full!

Thanks!

Hi Rose,

This is simply irresistable eh? Off to sign up now.

I've had so much fun with these patterns in the abstract exchange, the 3" squares might be for me!

Re: Project Discussion: Zentangle Exchange

YEAH, I'm in too. I'm looking so very forward to this Exchange. Sorry to have to ask this question, but can we request what size we would like to receive -- 3" square, ACEO size, or don't mind which it is? For those of us who collect our cards in the 9 pocket sleeves, the ACEO size is better. I don't want to be a wet blanket, just asking.

Val.

Re: Project Discussion: Zentangle Exchange

Great work Rose for starting another project for us addicts!

I haven't even started on the Pet portrait exchange yet and I have been so busy lately that I haven't commented much in the Primaries or Abstract exchanges for the last couple of weeks. I'll just hang around in the background of this one until I can decide if I can do it justice or not.

I'm with Val though, if I do join I would prefer ATCs since they fit into my international art collection.

Re: Project Discussion: Zentangle Exchange

Hi everyone... I will try to see if I can change to just the ACEO size.. it sounds like this will be the most welcome for everyone..

Mona.. what the heck.. join in!! I'm sure you'll find the time.. the cards are easily completed in about 20 mins and no worries about paints and stuff.

I'm off to see if I can alter the project to reflect ATC size

THANKS for joining in everyone. We're off to a running start!

Nina, thanks for being here.. you've already begun your Zentangle quest! YAY!

Well, the project won't let me update the specs.. but I am making it official that we will be doing ATC size only!

Have fun!!!

Also, the link I put up didn't link to the right source.. so here is the link again: www.zentangle.com

Re: Project Discussion: Zentangle Exchange

I'm in. This is going to be another fun one. I will need to visit my local store and get some supplies but sounds like a fun one. The primary project introduced them and I am fascinated with them. Fun to be had by all.

Red face Re: Project Discussion: Zentangle Exchange

I signed up, sounds like a challange to me, and I like those. Not really sure what this is, but when I googled the word it means doodle??? Except in an art form correct????? What ever it is I'm in, had fun on the last exchange except for the W/C issues but that's no big deal.....

Re: Project Discussion: Zentangle Exchange

Woo Hoo!! Rose, you came up with another winner!

This looks like a lot of fun.. I have read that making zentangles is very relaxing.. hope I can stay awake long enough to finish all 20!!

Maybe it will be coffee and zentangles for me.. I am glad I made it into the project!

Re: Project Discussion: Zentangle Exchange

This looks like fun!! Reminds me of Escher. I have to finish my last Warm Weather bug and finish commenting. Next week my hours will be cut to 20 from 30 and I'll start working from home. Soooo, I'll have more time - soooooo let me sleep on and and I will probably sign up if there is space left. I've always loved doodling. We did something like this in my art class and the string was our name.
