Re: Project Discussion: Abstract ACEO Exchange

I've got 12 done, so I'm pleased with my progress. Mind you, I've had to pay a price to have so many done -- have been home all week with Croup. It's so wet and cold here, that it isn't fit for anyone or anything outside. Hope to get a couple more done today.

Val.

Beautiful art on your website, Jackie. And your progress ATCs are looking great.

I have 13 done so far, but I'm still not sure if they are abstracts or some sort of surrealistic cartoons.

Re: Project Discussion: Abstract ACEO Exchange

I'm getting mine done too!!!!!I hope mine are abstract enough too!!! I guess it is all on how we as creators perceive it to how abstract they are!! I'am having so much fun doin this>> my daughter is 9 and she is doing them with me so everyone will get a suprise with mine. Are there any trades on this site for kids... I've looked on other sites but from reading comments I dont know which sites are reputible and which ones aren't so I don't want to sign her up somewhere and have her be disappointed.

I have checked out all of your websites and you guys all are so talented!!Maybe as soon as I get more comfortable with the computer I will have one...I'am way behind times sorry guys!!I hope all is well with everyone!! I can't wait to send these out!!! Oh ...I'm already looking forward to the next trade!!!

Re: Project Discussion: Abstract ACEO Exchange

Wow, you all are so proactive with already beginning! That's AWESOME!! Val, I hope you feel better soon! That's not fun, to be down with the croup.

Mona, you're right on track

And Momma tee, your daughter sounds like a little artist. Can't wait to see her paintings. Woo hoo!

I don't know if there are any children's projects, but she's welcome here! Have a great day everyone..

Get better soon, Val! We have 10 people and one other possibly. I don't know, maybe we'll close it at 16. I hope we get more soon

Re: Project Discussion: Abstract ACEO Exchange

Thanks Rose

How about I we earlybirds start sending cards out, and maybe that will make some more participants interested in joining while the sign-up period of 30 days is still open? Or maybe that is against the rules?

Re: Project Discussion: Abstract ACEO Exchange

Mona... I don't have the full list ready and I think I better wait so I don't do two times the work. You can always just set them aside for later, and you'll be that much more ahead. I am thinking we may have to just start at 16, but we need 6 more to begin.

We'll wait another week or so.. the signups are for 30 days.. there are many on vacation for the upcoming Fourth of July celebrations Just a thought.. great going at doing your cards, though!

Ok, I'll settle down and try a little bit of patience instead.

I feel the same way! Mona, you and I will have to go campaigning to get more people to join! LOL! That way we can get our cards out sooner!

Re: Project Discussion: Abstract ACEO Exchange

Ya'll are so far ahead of me!! I can't keep up...I've completed two and have sketched out two more. I should've known pointillism would take too long!!! Oh well, I promised myself I'd do four of those then move on to something faster. I'm getting excited about doing some watercolor again. Hope to work on something tonight - great enthusiasm here for this project - very inspiring to those of us who are new to this!

(Thanks for checking out my site, Mona - can't wait to see your cards...)

Re: Project Discussion: Abstract ACEO Exchange

Mona.. *sigh*.. you can't send them out yet but you can do as many as you want !

Jackie.. I remember doing a lot of pointillism a while back, and yes, it took so much time, but the effects are wonderful and so rewarding when you are done. You are inspiring ME now to do something like that. I like that impressionistic feel!

Re: Project Discussion: Abstract ACEO Exchange

Jackie, I'm doing surrealistic cartoons on a watercolor base, are you sure?
I bet that pointillism takes a while, I haven't tried that technique yet but it looks very interesting. I did do the primary color exchange in watercolor mostly using a 0000-brush.

Hehe...15 done so far. I will have a small collection to chose from by the time we are ready to go..I'll probably not send out the nuttiest ones. I usually start my projects when cards start showing up in the mailbox and I start to panic, that's why I'm so impatient now...but I'll behave (from now on) I promise.

Re: Project Discussion: Abstract ACEO Exchange

I love Pointillism too. I do a lot of it, and find it very relaxing. I do know that some people find it tedious, because it is slow work, but I can lose myself in it, and the hours just flit by. I don't think I could exist without art in my life.
